YouTube Music is rolling out labels to identify tracks created primarily using generative artificial intelligence (AI), including music in which AI tools are used to generate compositions and vocals.
The labels will appear on the player pages of tracks where AI has played a significant role. Users will be able to tap them to access additional information about the music. The labels will also be introduced on the main YouTube app.

YouTube said it is working with music partners and using its own detection tools to identify AI-generated tracks. The system follows principles already used by the platform to disclose the use of AI in content.
The rollout comes as generative AI tools become increasingly common in music production, raising questions about how AI-generated material is identified and disclosed to listeners.
