Truecaller teams up with Gupshup for global messaging push

Communications platform Truecaller has announced a strategic partnership with conversational messaging company Gupshup to expand the reach of its Business Messaging solution across multiple international markets, including India, Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa.

Under the partnership, Gupshup will offer Truecaller Business Messaging to enterprises, enabling businesses to engage with customers through verified and rich-media messaging formats on the Truecaller platform.

The collaboration aims to provide businesses with an alternative communication channel beyond traditional SMS, allowing brands to send messages that can include images, videos, documents, and interactive elements.

Beerud Sheth, Founder and CEO of Gupshup, said the partnership would help businesses access another channel for customer engagement.

According to the companies, Truecaller Business Messaging includes verified sender identities that display a business's name, logo, and verification badge. The platform also supports rich-media content, one-tap call-to-action features, and priority notifications for time-sensitive information such as one-time passwords (OTPs) and travel updates.

The companies said the solution is designed to support a range of customer communication needs, including authentication messages, bill payment reminders, service updates, and customer feedback collection.

The partnership combines Gupshup's enterprise messaging network with Truecaller's communication platform as both companies seek to expand business-to-consumer messaging capabilities across global markets.
