Prada has released its 2026 holiday campaign, combining hand-drawn animation and live-action filmmaking in a winter fantasy featuring actors Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Chen Haoyu, Luther Ford and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

Animator John Pomeroy, whose credits include The Land Before Time, Thumbelina and Klaus, created every frame by hand. The campaign follows illustrated characters as they interact with Prada products and the actors, placing the brand’s winter collection within a fictional world.

The film features a snow lynx eyeing a miniature Avoir handbag and a group of mice drawn to a pair of black-and-white dotted shoes. In another scene, a snowball is thrown into Harrison Jr.’s nylon backpack. These animated moments are integrated into live-action settings, bringing illustrated creatures into scenes featuring the campaign’s cast.

Photographer Glen Luchford’s lighting and perspective help connect the hand-drawn elements with the live-action footage. The campaign also showcases pieces from Prada’s winter collection, including technical outerwear, candy-coloured stripes and occasionwear knitwear.

Pomeroy developed the characters by considering their personalities and motivations before animating their movements. Lighting was also central to the process, including a scene featuring Sink in which the glow of a fireplace illuminates the setting.

The campaign places traditional, frame-by-frame animation at the centre of a contemporary fashion campaign. While computer-generated imagery is widely used in visual storytelling, Prada’s approach relies on the time-intensive process of drawing each frame, making the craft itself a defining element of the creative.
