Vikram Solar has launched ‘Majha Bappa, Majhi Urja’, a Ganeshotsav campaign in Pune that links public participation during the festival with a solarisation initiative for an identified village community or school.

The campaign is anchored at Tilak Road Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Shedge Wadi and is also being taken across Pune through two Solar Experience Vans. Visitors can perform a Charan Sparsh at the idol’s feet, triggering a solar Urjamandal around Bappa. Each interaction generates Urja Points, with the points collected at the pandal and through the mobile vans contributing towards the solarisation initiative.
Sameer Nagpal, chief executive officer, Vikram Solar, said,“Ganeshotsav is a celebration of faith, togetherness and giving back to the community. Clean energy, too, is about creating a cleaner and more sustainable future for everyone. With ‘Majha Bappa, Majhi Urja’, we wanted to bring these two ideas together. Every Charan Sparsh is a moment of devotion, but it can also become a contribution towards solarising a village community or school. For us, this is what creating a Climate for Change means, turning individual moments into collective impact and taking the light of Bappa into communities through renewable energy.”
The campaign is part of the company’s wider initiatives linking community participation with solar energy, including its ‘Sixes for Solar’ initiative.
